Lyski Rock Festival Brings Polish Rock Legends to a Silesian Town

A small Silesian town will become a meeting point for generations of Polish rock fans on 28 August, when Lyski Rock Festival welcomes Kult, Pidżama Porno, Jelonek and Lej Mi Pół

Large music festivals are usually associated with major cities, but across Poland many memorable live events take place in smaller communities. On 28 August 2026, the village of Lyski in Silesia will welcome fans from across the region for an evening dedicated to some of the country's most recognisable rock artists.

The latest edition of Lyski Rock Festival brings together established names from different parts of Poland's rock scene, including Kult and Pidżama Porno, two bands whose music has accompanied several generations of listeners. The line-up also includes the energetic performances of Lej Mi Pół and the distinctive instrumental rock of Jelonek.

For local audiences, the festival is not only a concert but also an opportunity to experience major Polish artists outside the country's largest urban centres.

A Festival Built Around Polish Rock Traditions

The strength of this year's line-up comes from the variety of styles represented on one stage.

Opening the festival will be Lej Mi Pół, a band known for combining rock music with humour, unusual lyrics and a deliberately chaotic stage presence. Their concerts are built around direct contact with the audience, creating an atmosphere that is as much about interaction as performance.

The festival will also feature Jelonek, the solo project of violinist Michał Jelonek. His music combines rock and metal with classical influences, using the violin as the central element of a theatrical and energetic live show. His compositions often reference the works of classical composers while adding a modern rock interpretation.

Pidżama Porno and the Continuing Appeal of Punk Rock

Pidżama Porno represents one of the most important chapters in Polish punk rock.

Formed in Poznań in 1987, the band became recognised for its distinctive lyrics, strong stage presence and songs that have remained popular with successive generations of listeners. Their music combines punk energy with poetic and socially observant writing, creating a style that has kept the band connected with audiences for decades.

Their appearance in Lyski reflects the continuing popularity of artists whose work has become part of Poland's wider cultural landscape.

Kult: More Than Four Decades on Stage

The festival's headline name, Kult, has been one of the most influential Polish bands since forming in Warsaw in 1982.

Founded by Kazik Staszewski and Piotr Wieteska, the group developed a distinctive sound combining alternative rock, punk, reggae and jazz influences. Led by Kazik Staszewski, whose vocals and lyrics remain central to the band's identity, Kult has built a reputation for socially engaged music and powerful live performances.

More than four decades after their first concert, Kult continues to attract audiences across Poland, proving the lasting appeal of their music.

A Summer Concert Outside the Big Cities

Lyski Rock Festival highlights an important part of Poland's cultural landscape: the role of smaller towns in hosting major music events.

For international visitors, the festival offers a different perspective on Polish music culture, showing that live performances and dedicated audiences exist far beyond Warsaw, Kraków or other major cities.

With four established acts appearing on one summer evening, Lyski will become a gathering place for fans who have followed Polish rock for years, as well as those discovering these artists for the first time.
